The fundraising REGULATOR
The first call for any complainant is through the Fundraising Regulator. The Fundraising Regulator investigates complaints about charitable fundraising
Decisions made in the course of the investigation or indeed the decision not investigate at all are final and unable to be appealed. However, there is scope for external review from Jon Wigmore.
Aside from exceptional circumstances, a request for review must be made within 4 weeks of the investigation decision or decision not to investigate in which case Jon will be granted full information to the case as well as being able to seek additional information. Jon will then consider the following criteria in his review of the investigation or lack of investigation:
After consideration of these factors Jon will be able to make recommendations regarding possible amendments, further investigation, or reconsiderations to the decision.
- where these cannot be resolved by organisations themselves; or
- where it has caused, or has the potential to cause, significant public harm.

- Were relevant factors taken into account, and irrelevant ones ignored?
- Should the investigation have been reopened in light of new evidence
- Was a decision not to investigate reasonable and taking into account all relevant factors?
After consideration of these factors Jon will be able to make recommendations regarding possible amendments, further investigation, or reconsiderations to the decision.
